His professional field of experience includes:
Personal injury
Medical negligence
Court appointments as Curator-ad-litem in matters where individuals are incapable of managing their own affairs
Commercial and contractual claims
He was awarded his LLB-degree by the erstwhile Rand Afrikaans University (University of Johannesburg) in 1996. His legal training was preceded by training in the medical sciences, graduating in 1982 from the University of Pretoria with a B.Med.Sci. and M.Sc. (Physiology) in 1987.
Before entering the legal profession in 1996, Herman was engaged in scientific research with a number of research institutions in the industrial hygiene (human factors in the workplace) and human performance areas of study.
He considers himself blessed to be married to his wife since 1983. They have two daughters and a son-in-law. Having grown up in a farming community, agriculture is a special interest and he is an enthusiastic co-owner of a herd of commercial Bonsmara cattle.
Herman is accredited as a mediator both locally and internationally.
